Board Trustee opportunities
with 2050 Climate Group

A Board Trustee is a voluntary position that will give you the opportunity to oversee, influence and shape the future of the 2050 Climate Group. It is a core value that our organisation is for young people and by young people. We lead by example with regards to promoting young people and pursuing equality and inclusion through our Board.

We are recruiting for Trustee(s) with fundraising experience to join our Board of Trustees

Time commitment: 8 - 15 hours per month, dependent on Board priorities and individual availability. Board meetings every 2 months on a Saturday.

Role: unpaid, but expenses are reimbursed

Requirements: age 18 to approximately 35 at the time of application, and strong connection to Scotland

We have a small staff team based in our Edinburgh office and irregularly advertise for jobs, paid placements for young people and consultancy. We are currently recruiting for a Development and Communications Officer (Fundraising, Maternity Cover)

Job Title: Development and Communications Officer (Fundraising, Maternity Cover)

Salary: £30,000-31,500 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) depending on experience,

(Pro-rata at 0.8 FTE to £24,000-£25,200).
Additional benefits: 33 days’ holiday (FTE), including public holidays each year; matched pension contributions of up to 5%
Hours: 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE) (some evening and weekend work will be required, for which Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be available). 

We are open to discussing flexible working options.
Contract type: maternity cover until January 2026, with the potential for an extension to March 2026

Location: Hybrid / Remote within the UK / Office based in Edinburgh

Reports to: Chair of the Board

Closing date: Midnight, 6th January 2025

Operational Volunteer Opportunities
with 2050 Climate Group

While our Board of Trustees manage the strategic direction of the charity and are responsible for governance of our work, our operational volunteers are responsible for developing and delivering our core work. This includes, but is not limited to, policy engagement, hosting events, awarding the 2050X Fund and the planning and delivery of our Climate Action Leadership Programme.
