2050 Climate Group is pleased to launch our new Strategic Plan, which defines our ambition to lead a social movement of Young Leaders leading climate action towards a just and sustainable society.
This is a pivotal and exciting time in our history. For our charity, and our society as a whole, as concern for the climate crisis reaches an international tipping point.
This strategic plan articulates 2050 Climate Group’s strategic direction, key objectives and approaches for 2019-2022. It sets out how we will achieve our vision of a world in which Young Leaders have led and accelerated the progress to a just and sustainable society.
Our Strategic Objectives
Our strategy contains three objectives, which all our activities, engagement and events seek to achieve. These objectives, address simultaneously, empower those aged 18-35 to realise their potential to lead our society. Our growing Leaders Network, our flagship Young Leaders Development Programme, our political engagement work and our wider engagement and representation of young people in Scotland and Malawi are continuing areas of activity.
Our Organisational Values
As a volunteer-led, youth-led charity (all our board, staff and volunteers are aged between 18 and 35), our values are central to all our work. We seek to work with those individuals and organisations with similiar values to lead climate action across the private, public and third sector.
Developed by Young Leaders in Scotland
This new strategic plan was developed in consultation with young people in Scotland – by those who work and volunteer for 2050 Climate Group, by those who are participating in our Young Leaders Development Programme and by those 500 young people who are part of our Leaders Network. We hosted a series of online surveys, in-person workshops and volunteer away-days. Our Board led the process, and launched the final plan with partners and stakeholders on Wednesday 6 November 2019.
