This job is to support the functions of the 2050 Climate Group and support the delivery of the Young Leaders Development Programme. The Young Leaders Development Programme has currently 120 young professionals participating in the programme, which involves a series of 7 learning modules and a summit at the end of the calendar year.
Young Scot has been involved with the 2050 Climate Group since its inception in January 2014. Young Scot now acts as a host organisation for the 2050 Group and we provide an incubation service for them. The 2050 Climate Group is a group of young professionals working together to educate, engage and empower young people to lead the transition to a low carbon Scotland. The 2050 Climate Group is a relatively young organisation and we are currently delivering our first programme of work to achieve this mission, our Young Leaders Development Programme. The Group is run and managed by the 21 volunteers on the main group.
Crucial to this role is working between the main group, including Chair, Vice Chair, and other key lead contacts on different activities, as well as coordinating with Young Scot, our range of funders and other key stakeholders. The coordinator will also be expected to manage the budget alongside the main group contact responsible for this, coordinate and support all meetings and events, including the 2nd Youth Climate Summit, which will take place in November 2016.
Part-Time, Fixed Term Contract £23,700 -£26,250 (pro rata, 2 days/week) Initially until March 2017
